Inter-Racial and Cross-Cultural Education Program collection, 1983-1989.

These materials came to the GTU Archives from two offices, the IRCCE Office and the GTU President's Office, and were merged to create this collection. It consists mainly of correspondence, meetings minutes, committee documents, and reports relating to or created by the program. This includes a survey of minority students and faculty.

The Inter-Racial and Cross-Cultural Education Program (IRCCE) began in the summer of 1984 in response to a series of reports on the lack of racial or ethnic equality and recognition within the GTU and its member schools. The goal of the IRCCE program was to address the findings of these reports by implementing new programs and curricula within the GTU community, and to foster diversity in new faculty hires.
